50 Great Years Serving Middle TN
It all started with a red cap and a strong work ethic.
Roy T. Goodwin started from the ground up. Mr. Roy T. made a decision many years ago to drop out of high school and begin working to provide for his sisters. From there, he chased down as much work as he could find. With his red cap on, he consistently pursued a construction company until finally he was put to work. He blew the others out of the water with the amount of hard physical labor he could do with minimal time and it was from that moment on that Roy T. Goodwin stood out.
Years of Hard Work and Mental Strength passed.
He continued working until the day he decided to take all of his earnings and create something he could carve into his own, on November 26th, 1971, he decided to start his own company - Roy. T Goodwin Contractors, Inc.. He paved the foundation for many generations to come and Roy T. Goodwin Contractors has only grown larger and stronger because of it. Partnering with other reputable companies, governments and small businesses - the generations have changed but the foundation set 50 years ago by a boy in a red cap remain. Roy G. Goodwin, also known as Mr. Glenn, took the Presidential title after his father retired, and continued to branch out and produce impeccable work. Brannon Goodwin, son of Glenn and the current Owner of the company, has also focused on growth within the business world as well as the internal operations of the company. While they have each been individually themselves, they have all firmly lead with one thing to the core —
“Treat your people like family. Take care of them and they will take care of you.”
A company that truly stands out, for not only their hard work but the way they treat their clients, subcontractors and employees. In the nature of the construction world, it can be a challenge to find those things within one business. When the company began 50 years ago, much like the concrete industry, it was formed with a strong foundation and has continued to change as time passed without losing the firm values that were set in the very beginning.
Roy T. Goodwin is forever grateful to each and every individual, company and employee that has played a role in the past 50 years.
It would not have been possible without the good-natured people of Middle Tennessee and Mr. Roy T. Goodwin. May we remember him for all that he was for his family and the Roy T. Goodwin Contractors family.
